WHere is a simplified take on a drink found on our latest cocktail list. It's a batch prepared mix that's packed with the essence of the festive period, making it ideal for hosting a holiday party. Save the extra citrus syrup to use in morning drinks, puddings, or for additional servings of the drink.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 people
For the Citrus Syrup (makes 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
To make the Drink (produces 850ml, serving 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
A few cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish
Instructions
For the Cordial: Place the listed ingredients inside a pan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Next, take off the stove and let it to reach room temperature completely. Transfer into an sealable bottle, cap it and store in the fridge, it will last for up to one month.
For the Cocktail Base: Mix all the liquids into a large bottle, allow it to infuse for one hour, then filter it , ideally through cheesecloth, so it's completely strained.
For serving: Pour 85ml of the cocktail base into your mixing glass packed with ice, and agitate carefully for one minute until cold. Pour to a chilled martini glass or a similar vessel, decorate with a few cranberries and finish using a brief mist of mandarin oil above the glass.
